Greg Bows

Co-Founder and Director

Our dynamic Co-Founder and Director, brings over a decade of invaluable experience in tourism and development. Hailing from the UK, Greg has spent the last fifteen years immersing himself in the heart of Travel, where his journey began as a wildlife researcher and bush guide. This profound connection with the continent led him to co-found and manage several pioneering tourism ventures, including the celebrated tour operator Africa & You, and African Impact, recognized as the continent’s premier voluntourism organization.

Greg’s dedication and innovative approach to the travel industry were honored a few years back when he received the IHIF Young Leader Award, a testament to his significant contributions. Greg has guided dozens of photographic tours over the years and has a excellent understanding of art of crafting a great photographic workshop

Marleen Lammers

Broadcasting Journalist

Marleen Lammers, embarked on her professional journey as a broadcasting journalist in her native Netherlands. Her adventurous spirit led her to Zambia, where she embraced the African continent’s working on Photographic projects around wildlife and Culture. Transitioning into the realms of communications and marketing, her career trajectory further ascended as she took charge of fundraising and communications for Greenpop, an environmental nonprofit based in Cape Town. Marleen’s journey didn’t stop there; she founded Penda, driven by her belief in the transformative power of photography to inspire and foster positive change. An avid photographer herself, Marleen is passionate about capturing moments that speak volumes. Beyond her visual storytelling, she is an accomplished writer who has published children’s books in both South Africa and the UK, showcasing her versatile talent and commitment to making a difference through her creative endeavors.

Sam Turley

Throughout his esteemed career in photography and conservation, Sam has had the privilege of living and working in some of the world’s most extraordinary locales, with recent stints in South Africa and Zimbabwe standing out. It was during his time in these wild and untamed landscapes that Sam’s understanding of the power of photography and conservation storytelling truly deepened. With his camera as his tool, Sam has dedicated himself to a mission of education, inspiration, and motivation, urging others to join the fight for a future where the wild thrives. Sam’s remarkable talent in photography has not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by his impressive list of accolades: He was honored as the Overall Winner of the Wilderness Safaris People’s Choice Award in 2020, a testament to his ability to capture the essence of the natural world in a way that resonates with a broad audience. His work received a Highly Commended distinction in the Africa Geographic Photographer of the Year competition in 2021, further solidifying his reputation as a leading conservation photographer.
